Abstract

По мнению автора, очевидно, западная политическая концепция религиозной свободы в значительной степени основана на рассуждениях Локка о терпимости, приведенных аргументов в ее защиту. Аргументы Локка в пользу терпимости не только значимы для христианства и либеральной демократии, являющейся наследницей философа, но и для церкви как социального института. В свете аргументов Локка «о взаимности», о различии природы церкви и государства, церкви узнают, что только в той мере, в какой они соответствуют понятию терпимой церкви, они являются истинными церквями.
