Abstract

The article discusses the results of a theoretical study of the state of mental preparation in sports at the current stage. On the basis of a bibliographic review and generalization of practical experience, conclusions about the state of affairs in the field of psychological support of the educational process can be drawn. The section dealing with the reaction of athletes to defeat and the consequences arising in the psyche of athletes to this fact of their career is highlighted.
