в настоящей статье рассматривается влияние модернизационных процессов на материальную культуру карачаевского народа, развернувшихся в России в новейшее время. В работе на основе полевых исследований изучается степень сохранности традиционных элементов и внедрения инноваций в жилищах, одежде и пище. В исследовании применялись комплексный и междисциплинарный подходы и специальные методы (наблюдение и интервью). Согласно наблюдениям, больше всего трансформации подверглись типы жилищ. К XX в. однокамерные срубные двускатные дома были уже редки и использовались как подсобные хозяйственные помещения. В карачаевской среде также происходят изменения в интерьере жилища: он ориентируется на городские стандарты. Трансформации касаются и традиционного костюма: к настоящему времени произошло нивелирование его этноопределяющей функции, национальный костюм в большей степени используется в свадебной обрядности, а также его элементы могут присутствовать в современной одежде. При всем этом карачаевцы сохраняют традиционную систему питания. В целом социокультурные процессы, происходящие в XX−XXI вв., прямо или косвенно отразились на элементах материальной культуры, полностью или частично видоизменив их.
this article examines the impact of modernization processes on the material culture of the Karachay people, which have unfolded in Russia in recent times. Using fieldwork, this study examines the preservation of traditional elements and the introduction of innovations in the housing, clothing, and food of the Karachay people. The study utilized a comprehensive and interdisciplinary approach and specialized methods (observation and interviews). According to observations, Karachay dwelling types have undergone the greatest transformation. By the 20th century, single-chamber log houses with gable roofs were already rare and were used as auxiliary utility rooms. Among the Karachay, home interiors are also undergoing changes, aligning with urban standards. Transformations also affect traditional dress: its ethnically defining function has been diminished; traditional dress is used primarily in wedding ceremonies, and elements of it may also be present in modern clothing. Despite all this, the Karachay people maintain a traditional diet. In general, the socio-cultural processes occurring in the 20th−21st centuries have directly or indirectly affected the elements of material culture, completely or partially changing them.
