    Abstract:
    This chapter examines the pedagogical potential of Lao Tzu's philosophical concept of Tao through the prism of developing a harmonious personality in modern society. The author conceptualizes Tao, interpreting ancient postulates as a methodological basis for modern humanistic pedagogy. The study is based on the following provisions: 1) the limits of verbalization in education (it is proven that the essence of personality development (Tao) is broader than any formal descriptions and boundaries, which requires the teacher to move to non-linear methods of transmitting experience); 2) sensory comprehension of the world (Tao is viewed not as an abstract substance, but as a living process, comprehended through involvement with the surrounding world, which substantiates the importance of empirical and existential learning); 3) the dialectic of pedagogical discourse: Lao Tzu's use of rational and metaphorical speech is analyzed as a prototype of modern problem-based learning methods.

    Abstract:
    This chapter presents the results of a theoretical and empirical study of the psychological characteristics of students integrating academic and athletic activities in a higher education setting. The relevance of the study stems from the contradiction between the high social demand for well-rounded professionals and the insufficient understanding of the psychological mechanisms of student-athlete development in the university educational environment. The aim of the study is to identify and characterize the psychological determinants, structure, and dynamics of students' personal characteristics in the context of physical education and sports activities and to identify areas for optimizing psychological and pedagogical support for this category of students. The methodological framework is based on a subject-activity approach, the concept of personal potential, and the theory of coping behavior. The study was implemented using a combination of psychodiagnostic methods: the Self-Organization of Activity Questionnaire, the Differential Reflection Diagnostic Method, the Personality Self-Determination Scale, the Coping Strategies Questionnaire, the Keirsey Method, and the «Self-Portrait» projective technique. The sample included 140 students (50 highly skilled athletes and 90 students not involved in professional sports). Statistically significant differences in the structure of students' personal potential were identified depending on their involvement in sports activities. It was shown that athletes demonstrate higher levels of self-organization, self-determination, and a preference for constructive coping strategies. Specific personality profiles of athletes practicing aesthetic sports were identified, characterized by extroversion, perfectionism, workaholism, and demonstrativeness. A theoretical structural and functional model, «Personality Determinants of the Effectiveness of Students' Physical Education and Sports Activities," was developed. Directions for personalizing psychological and pedagogical support are substantiated, differentiated based on students' sports specialization and individual psychological characteristics. The materials in this chapter can be used in the activities of university psychological services and in the training of coaches and teachers.

    In this article, the authors actualize the issue of developing a student's personal potential, which determines his success in learning activities, affects the achievement of personally significant educational goals and optimal results in general. The potential resources of a student's personality are intellectual, motivational, instrumental resources, his personal qualities and a self–regulation resource that determine the dynamics of a student's self-development in the context of his individual educational trajectory.

    Abstract:
    The article presents the results of developing a model of reflexive quality of life management for the reproductive health of Russian students based on the explication of its value-semantic priorities, personal potential and for the strategy of accumulating human capital and spiritual and moral education. Reflexive management of the quality of life in relation to reproductive health means a purposeful process of influencing the changing parameters of the quality of life, initiated by the identification of spiritual and moral value-semantic priorities, personal and reproductive potentials of young people. The managerial function of the quality of life in relation to reproduction makes it possible to authenticate the will (desire) and active reflexive actions of a young person along the path of its preservation and generalization.

  • Reconnaissance of Professional Resources and Personal Potential of a Teacher in the Era of Social Turbulence and Transformation of Education

    Abstract:
    Introduction. The article defines the teacher's mission in the era of social turbulence and high uncertainty characteristic of the transition of Russian society to the post-industrial stage of development. The authors focus on training a teacher for the future, determined by social conditions and directions of development of the Russian education system. Relevance. The available scientific ideas about the professional resources and personal potential of the teacher, ways to support his development in modern conditions cannot be recognized as sufficient. This determines the purpose of the study: the definition of professional resources in the context of the development of the personal potential of the teacher, the most demanded in the era of social turbulence and transformation of education. Material and research methods: the work uses theoretical methods (analysis of philosophical, psychological and pedagogical literature), modeling, generalization of the experience of establishing additional pedagogical education; empirical methods (psychological diagnosis of professional resources and personal potential of teachers, readiness of teachers for professional activities in conditions of social turbulence and transformation of education). Study results and discussion. The authors propose a model of professional resources and personal potential of the teacher, indicate diagnostic methods for their research. A description of the possibility of additional pedagogical education is presented as a condition for the development of professional resources and the personal potential of the teacher. It was concluded that it is necessary to improve the advanced training and retraining of teachers in the context of modern requirements for the teacher's activities. The experience of the Ulyanovsk State Pedagogical University named after I. N. Ulyanov in this direction is described. Conclusions. The results of the study can be used in organizing comprehensive support for the development of professional resources and personal potential of teachers in the conditions of further education, managing a teacher's career, developing advanced training and professional retraining programs.
