    Abstract:
    The current paper systemises the educational experience of the English language chair at Penza State University within two academic years. Chair is considered an important element in the system of educational work at university. The paper presents the conception of educational work at the chair, analyses the content of this activity, in particular, the areas and directions of the activity and particular events. The authors discuss the methods of performance assessment, revealing the benefits and drawbacks of their work.
