  • On the state and improvement of the educational system in Russia

    Abstract:
    Disadvantageous features of the education system reform implementation in Russia, worsening the quality of education of university graduates are identified in this article. The author suggests measures to modernize (improve) the education system. On the basis of research`s results made by domestic and foreign scientists, the difference between the concepts of "quality of preparation" and "quality of education" is revealed in the framework of the competence approach widely applied in the system of higher education. The researcher concluded that the result of quality education of students is their ability to work independently, to work in a competitive environment, the success and relevance on the labor market, as well as adaptability to rapidly changing social and economic conditions, effectively using the education received.

    Abstract:
    The article is devoted to the problem of formation of research competencies of schoolchildren, which are one of the most important in the modern information society. The aim of the study is to substantiate and describe the content of the formation of research competencies of students in teaching mathematics. The study was carried out on the basis of the methods of analysis of pedagogical, methodical literature, modeling method. The paper describes in detail the principles and stages of the formation of research competencies in the process of the entire period of schooling, describes the model of the formation of research competencies of students in teaching mathematics. The structural elements of research competences, determined on the basis of the understanding of competencies as the knowledge, ways of activity and experience, taking into account the specifics of the mathematical content, the characteristics of learning mathematics. The described step-by-step preparation of students for research activities can be used in teaching mathematics at school.

    The analysis of social and cultural reality shows that the increase in the education quality is one of actual problems of modern society. Foreign language competence of the students of agricultural institutions is a part of their professional competence and it is understood as a complex of cultural and professional competences necessary to solve professional tasks with a functional level of a foreign language. The forming of a foreign language competence of the students of agricultural institutions is exercised due to implementation of the following pedagogical conditions: working out teaching and learning aids, creating and supporting motivation to the professional foreign language study, analysis of learning outcomes.

    Abstract:
    The article is devoted to the understanding of M. K. Mamardashvili's views on the problem of teaching philosophy in higher educational institutions, the analysis of the role of philosophy in modern society and in the education system. It is shown that, despite the presence of philosophy as an obligatory discipline of the basic part of the curriculum, it is possible to state the absence of an integral image of its teaching. The main attention is focused on changing the status of philosophy in the educational process.

    Abstract:
    The article is concerned with the problem of academic writing skills’ development in postgraduate students of nonlinguistic technical universities in the process of professionally-oriented language teaching. Results of the research work conducted by the university graduates are traditionally presented in specialized scientific journals, which requirement is to provide every publication with the annotation written in English. As practice shows, most of the students experience various difficulties in writing annotations in English. We identified mistakes that are most frequently committed by undergraduate students and developed a modified teaching technology aimed at their elimination and development of academic writing skills. The elaborated modified teaching technology consists of 6 steps and is employed in the process of professionally-oriented foreign language teaching.

    Abstract:
    This article investigates the problem of formation of communicative competence of the teacher-psychologists. We have carried out a theoretical analysis of academic, methodological and teaching literature on the formation of a teacher-psychologist communicative competence. A model of formation of communicative competence of teacher-psychologists have been elaborated and put into practice. The model of formation of communicative competence of teacher-psychologists is recommended for use when elaborating educational standards and programs in higher education.
