  • The Need for Higher Education for Entrepreneurship: Analysis of a Sociological Study (Opinion of Entrepreneurs)

    Abstract:
    The article actualizes the role of higher education in obtaining business skills. The purpose of the study is the analysis of the needs of higher education for entrepreneurship and the formation of entrepreneurial competence as an actual problem of higher professional education that meets the challenges of modern society and the formation of a layer of entrepreneurs. The following hypotheses were examined: dissatisfaction of entrepreneurs with higher education; limited formation of entrepreneurial competence in the conditions of higher education; the needs of second and third higher education, additional courses and trainings for business development identified in the course of business activity. A set of General scientific and sociological (theoretical and applied) research methods that complement each other are used. The first ones include methods of analysis, synthesis, generalization and comparison, which allowed us to consider the cause-and-effect relationships between the studied phenomena and the logic of their development. The second category includes methods of structural-functional and system analysis, as well as the focus-chat method used for conducting applied research. Based on the sociological research, the problems of forming entrepreneurial competence and effective application of higher education in the field of small and medium-sized businesses are analyzed. The sample included 25 entrepreneurs of medium and small businesses. Research results. These hypotheses were partially confirmed. Entrepreneurs are generally satisfied with their higher education as a basic one. The study confirmed the absence of a system in the formation of entrepreneurial competence in higher education. The study provides an opportunity to develop recommendations for the formation of entrepreneurial competencies in higher school programs.

    Abstract:
    The authors of article review a current problem of ethno-cultural education of youth through familiarizing with art and ornamental culture, folk art and traditions of small nationalities of Outer Manchuria of the Far Eastern of Russia. The authors outline that patriotic education is indisputable problem today, and the task of revival, promotion, maintenance of national culture as well as the formation of the harmonious personality is set out by ethno-cultural education itself. It is noted that a necessary condition of this formation is ethno-cultural competences which are built in at children's age. Teaching to respect traditions begins in families, and then continues at schools, higher educational institutions and institutions of additional education, the ethno-cultural centers. Spiritual communication of national masters and their pupils is based on continuity of generations. It is emphasized that today a lot was lost in arts and crafts of Outer Manchuria. The loss of valuable knowledge as their carriers pass away, leaving this knowledge to younger generation is observed. The question of their preservation is particularly acute. The authors come to the conclusion that this question should be solved in educational institutions by means of introduction of the integrated programs that have an ethnic and art component and modern pedagogical technologies in their contents. Author’s experiment demonstrates revival of interest in folk art in children and youth, in particular, in future teachers-artists.

    Abstract:
    The theoretical and methodological foundations for the prospective teachers’ reflexive competence formation, modeling the development process and its implementation in the educational space of the university are examined in the article. The idea of the research is that the effective formation of the student's reflexive competence, considered in the mainstream of reflexive activity is based on subjective relationships, interaction in dialogue, diversity of positions and individualization. It is emphasized that these pedagogical conditions are implemented in non-linear and collective learning at the university, based on a conscious choice of forms, content, teaching aids and methods in the educational space of the university. Purpose of the research is to check the theoretical and conceptual foundations for the development of the prospective teachers’ reflexive competence in the framework of higher education. The research results show that the development of the reflexive competence of a prospective teacher in the educational space is a very long process and needs a special pedagogical organization. The author comes to the conclusion that the meaning of the process of developing of a prospective teacher’s reflexive competence can be considered self-movement in the professional and personal terms.

  • Multi-Level Complex Tasks in the System of Assessment Tools (On Example of a Physics Course)

    Abstract:
    The article discusses the problem of forming a system of assessment tools in the context of modular competence-based learning. The aim of the research is to find the optimal means for assessing the level of competence formation. In author’s opinion, one of the abovementioned means is complex tasks that include several multi-level components. Based on the analysis of ways to solve this problem, presented in the scientific and pedagogical literature, the author offers criteria for selecting tasks for the formation of a system of assessment tools aimed at diagnosing the level of formation of necessary competencies, shows the role of complex tasks for such diagnostics. Using the example of the physics course, their possible structure and the problems solved by individual elements of this structure are reviewed. Examples of such tasks are given, and it is shown that they allow to diagnose the level of formation of individual elements of competence, adjust teaching methods and motivate students to work actively, seek out additional information, promote awareness of the importance of discipline as a professional one. The results of the research generalize the personal experience of teaching physics at the Far Eastern Federal University and can be used by university teachers in creating their own system of assessment tools.

  • Opportunities to Optimize Social and Psychological Adaptation of Elementary School Children With Autism Spectrum Disorder in Inclusive Education

    Abstract:
    The results of testing the model of psychological and pedagogical support for elementary school children with autism spectrum disorder and intellectual disabilities who are studying in inclusive education are presented in the article. The main target groups and activities of specialists within the framework of the implementation of this model are identified, and the possibilities of using applied behavior analysis in the organization of support are determined. The importance of interaction of all subjects of the educational environment in creating the conditions necessary for successful socialization of children is updated. Research methods and materials: observation, comparison, analysis of testing the model of psychological and pedagogical support for children with intellectual disabilities. Testing was carried out on the basis of 7 educational organizations in Yoshkar-Ola and rural settlements of the Republic of Mari El. The study involved elementary school children studying in a resource class at a secondary school. Methods of assessment and schemes for identifying the level of social and psychological adaptation of elementary school children are reviewed. Research result. Positive dynamics of indicators of social and psychological adaptation could be observed. The following indicators were improved: emotional and volitional sphere, behavior in general, interaction with peers. All those components characterize the emotional and behavioral components of social competence. It is concluded that testing the model of psychological and pedagogical support for school children with autism spectrum disorder and intellectual disabilities, based on the cooperation of all subjects of the educational environment, is effective and advantageous.

    The article is devoted to the preparation of young teachers to work with gifted children in the system of continuing education. The author outlines that activity of a young teacher with gifted children is a very responsible job that constantly requires the teacher to master professional skills, develop personal qualities, flexibility, emotional stability, and the ability to create individual and personalized programs designed for all types of pupils, including gifted children. The author comes to the conclusion that preparation of young teachers to work with smart and gifted children should be focused on improve their theoretical knowledge on the specifics of a gifted child’s psychology , as well as on the formation of professionally important qualities necessary to ensure the effectiveness of the educational process, which contributes to the improvement of skills, increase the general and psychological and pedagogical culture of a young teacher for the development of professional competence and ownership of the professional component in the system of continuing education.

    Abstract:
    The article is devoted to the importance of incorporating of a foreign culture learning, acquiring cross-cultural communication and cultural awareness skills in a foreign language teaching. The authors point out that teaching culture in foreign language teaching context should include cultural knowledge, cultural values, cultural skills and behavior. The author also emphasize that attitudes to teaching culture in the process of foreign language teaching involve, on the one side, considering teaching culture as teaching the fifth language skill along with speaking, listening, reading and writing, implying teaching cultural sensitivity and cultural awareness or the behavior in certain cultural situations, and on the other side, regarding language as social practice being defined by culture in which culture becomes the core of language teaching with cultural awareness viewed as enabling language proficiency. Cultural awareness is the foundation of communication; it helps to understand cultural values, beliefs, and perceptions of the other culture. Training of both bilingual and bicultural students at higher educational institutions is of primary significance. Intercultural awareness presumes a number of skills, improving students’ native culture and other cultures’ awareness and understanding. The authors come to the conclusion that intercultural awareness skills imply overcoming misinterpretations and accepting differences.

  • Formation of Intercultural Competence of Primary Schoolchildren in Mastering Listening Comprehension Skills

    The article is devoted to the issue of teaching how to master listening comprehension skills while learning a foreign language in order to form the intercultural competence of primary schoolchildren. The relevance of the study is due to the need to create a fundamental basis for giving possibility to pupils to master communication skills in order being able to communicate effectively in a foreign language at a cross-cultural level, which is one of the strategic goals of modern linguistic education. The technology of phased work with authentic texts for mastering listening comprehension skills, including the stage of preliminary work and smoothing difficulties, the stage of listening and working with the text, the stage of post-listening and doing creative tasks based on the text is presented in the article. Research methods: scientometric analysis of scientific sources, pedagogical modeling, analysis of educational programs and standards, educational documentation and educational information on research studied, diagnostic methods, such as survey, experimental learning. Results. It is proposed to solve the problem by listening to authentic texts, as a purposeful process of mastering not only the linguistic, but also the cultural code of a foreign language, which is necessary to realize the principle of cultures’ dialogue. The educational goals in teaching primary schoolchildren how to master listening comprehension skills while learning a foreign language, as well as the methodological arguments for teaching listening comprehension as an independent type of speech activity are highlighted. It is concluded that this is not always the case when having a high level of foreign language communicative competence, students can achieve successful interaction at the intercultural level due to insufficient intercultural communication skills.

  • Metacognitive Competence as a Factor of Self-Regulation of Students' Educational Activity

    The article is devoted to the problem of metacognitive competence formation and self-regulation. The aim of the work is to identify the features of self-regulation of educational activity in metacognitively competent students. The concepts of “metacognitive competence”, “metacognitive knowledge”, “metacognitive regulation”, and “self-regulation” are clarified in the article. Methods of research. The study was conducted at the Institute of Pedagogy and Psychology of FSBEI of HE “Petrozavodsk State University” with freshmen and second year students, studying in the program 44.03.02 “Psychological and pedagogical education”. Methods of studying metacognitive competence and self-regulation were used to test the hypothesis; the data obtained were processed according to the F-test. Analysis of the results of the research showed that metacognitive competent students have a high level of development of the self-regulation system and regulatory properties of personality. The author outlines that among the stylistic features of self-regulation of metacognitive competent students are high level of independence and flexibility, the predominance of orientation to achieve success, activity in setting goals, etc. It is concluded that the results obtained can be used to determine the directions for further study of the relationship between metaprocesses and self-regulation, and the development of programs for the development of self-regulation of students' educational activities.

  • Revisiting the Issue of Gothic Language Teaching Methodology as a Part of Classical Languages and Cultures Course

    The article is devoted to the description of possibilities of applying main approaches implemented in Classical languages teaching at universities in the practice of the Gothic language teaching. The purpose of the article is to consider the methodology of the Gothic language teaching as a part of Classical languages and cultures course. Methods of research. In the course of work the following research methods were applied: analysis and observation. Research results. Various exercises used by the author in her own practice are presented in the article. The author emphasizes that it is necessary to diversify the forms of work for the emergence of cognitive interest and motivation to learn the language in students. When implementing the approach described in the article, by the end of the Classical languages and cultures course, students acquire the ability to analyze authentic texts in the Gothic language, develop memory, logical thinking, the ability to read the text thoughtfully, work with a dictionary, etc. It is concluded that it is necessary to supplement the grammatical approach to the presentation of the material with elements of typological and cultural approaches, as well as it is meaningful to introduce such exercises for the development of students' linguistic and metalinguistic competencies, which are based on adapted Gothic texts.

  • Metasubject Competencies in the Prevention of Delinquent Behavior in Adolescents

    An attempt to establish the relationship between the formation of meta-subject competencies in delinquent adolescents in the framework of educational and extracurricular activities in an educational institution and the transition of forms of its behavioral manifestations from social disapproval to behavior regulated by legal norms was made. The authors outline that in order to structure knowledge about metasubject competencies, they are classified into meta-activities, meta-ways and meta-abilities that directly affect the rehabilitation of delinquent adolescents by means of educational and extracurricular activities organized in an educational institution. Methods of research: comparative and theoretical analysis of psychological and pedagogical literature, monographs and thesis works, documentation; generalization, comparison, systematization. Research result. The authors come to the conclusion that delinquent adolescent, due to the features of their socially disapproved forms of life, have well-defined formed competencies, but apply them in asocial behavioral manifestations. The article pays attention to the importance of improving the effectiveness of activity of educational institutions on the formation of delinquent adolescents’ metasubject competencies as a means of overcoming adolescent deviation. However, attention is drawn to the possible risks in this area of activity due to the delinquent adolescents’ frequent absence from school, so the authors also paid attention to the need to form academic motivation in delinquent adolescents to achieve the goals of forming metasubject competencies and overcoming delinquency.

  • Holding Online Student Conferences: Typical Mistakes

    The article is focused on the analysis of typical mistakes and errors which are made by Russian students while creating PowerPoint presentations and delivering them at online international conferences. The relevance of the topic is connected with the necessity to face a new challenge of transforming the educational process into the new format – the format of distance learning. The author of the article outlies that this transformation should be carried out very carefully. Digitalization of education system should not result in painful destruction of traditional approaches to teaching and learning. It is noted that it is necessary to continue using those forms of educational process which are familiar both for teachers and students. One of such forms is an online student conference. The aim of the research was to analyze different types of mistakes and errors made by Russian students as well as their main causes. The author deals with examples collected while listening to presentations at the international online conferences which were held at the faculties of biology at Perm State University and the university of Delta, USA. The methods used in the research include analysis, description, observation, comparison. The results of the research demonstrated that one of the most common causes of mistakes is language interference. It is concluded that the analysis of typical mistakes and errors helps the teacher to make the right choice of materials for drilling in class, which, in turn, is crucial for language competence development that makes effective professional communication possible.

    The article is devoted to the consireation of problems arising in the implementation of ethno-cultural education. The purpose of article is to consider the main problems of modern ethno-cultural education in the Republic of Buryatia and suggest ways to solve them. The methods of the article are based on a theoretical analysis of research on this issue and monitoring data on ethno-cultural education in the Republic of Buryatia. As a result of this work, the main existing problems of ethno-cultural education in Buryatia are highlighted. It is concluded that modern ethno-cultural education should be aimed at the formation of multi-ethnic cultural competence of the individual and be implemented at all levels of education. State authorities, public and interested organizations whose activities are aimed at the development of multi-ethnic culture of modern youth should be involved in solving the problems that arise in the implementation of ethno-cultural education.

    The article highlights the theoretical, methodological and practical aspects of students’ ethno-cultural competencies formation in the system of institutions of additional education in study clubs, trade shops as well as during creative master classes. The purpose of the study is to define the relevance and significance of folk crafts revival as a factor of students’ ethno-cultural competencies formation. The main works of Russian authors in the field of research of folk and art crafts are presented. Methods. A comparative analysis of the historical situation that reflects the content and importance of folk crafts, as well as its current state is presented. During the study the following methods were applied: analysis of Russian literature, legal acts, conversation with students and teachers, content-analysis of creative activity outcomes. The study was carried out on the basis of the institutions for additional education and culture of the Svetloyarsky District in Volgograd Region, among masters of decorative and applied art of Volgograd and members of the club of masters "Remaliya". The role of masters of decorative and applied arts in the system of additional education, as well as the main types of presentation of folk crafts products is described. The experience of interaction between universities, schools and institutions of additional education with masters of decorative and applied art, areas of joint activity of various age groups is outlined. Moreover, the article reveals the main directions in which the revival of folk crafts and traditions in the modern system of culture and education (study clubs, studios, trade shops) is implemented. At the same time, the author analyzes the main points of folk crafts revival regulation, including legislative ones. Research result. The article highlights the importance of forming ethno-cultural competencies in students in the context of working with their parents as carriers of traditions and customs. It is concluded that students’ ethno-cultural competencies formation in the context of the revival of folk crafts is a complex multi-component and step-by-step process, into which many subjects are involved.

  • Sociocultural and Anthropoecological Distinctive Features of Pedagogical Discourse

    Abstract:
    The relevance of the study is due to the complexity of socio-cultural reality due to the aggravation of the contradiction between globalization and national-oriented processes, the increasing struggle of cultures, economies and ideologies, and the acceleration of scientific and technological progress. The purpose of the article is to consider sociocultural and anthropoecological distinctive features of pedagogical discourse. The author points out that anthropo-innovations, such as genetic engineering, cyborgization, cloning, integration with artificial intelligence, pharmaceutical advances, and GMO products threaten the existence of a person in his or her mental and physical integrity. The restriction of anthropological innovations is due to spiritual revival, reliance on traditional cultures, as well as the best cultural and pedagogical national experience, and is determined by the understanding of the soul as an integrating component of a person. In the Humanities, the description of an increasingly complex socio-cultural reality is closely related to its description in the context of various discursive plans. This approach is also promising for pedagogy. At the same time, modern trends in the development of the discursive approach “blur” the boundaries of pedagogical knowledge. The article presents a highly specialized definition of pedagogical discourse. During the study the following methods were applied: analysis of legal documents and scientific and methodical literature. It is proved that the pedagogical category “zone of proximal development” in its socio-cultural and anthropo-ecological contexts favors understanding of the distinctive features of educational and pedagogical discourse. It is concluded that orientation to the zone of proximal development of the individual contributes to the consistency of the socio-cultural experience, including nationally oriented components, transmitted by the teacher, with the life experience of the student, favors his or her emotional involvement in the educational process.

    Abstract:
    The ways and means of implementing the contents of an additional professional educational advanced training program consisting of classroom and extracurricular activities aimed at incorporating the mastered experience into the practice of trainees (listeners) to solve specific problems of professional activity are considered. Based on the analysis of legal documents and scientific and methodical literature, the purpose, objectives and content of the formation of professional competences of teachers of the native (Tatar) language within the additional advanced training program implementation and post-course period have been determined. The purpose of the study is to reveal the possibilities of additional professional educational advanced training program aimed at improving the multicultural competence of the teacher of native (Tatar) language “Formation of multicultural competences of the teacher of teacher of native (Tatar) language”. The author outlines that the aim of the additional professional educational program is to improve the professional competence of teachers of the native (Tatar) language, oriented and ready to work in a multicultural educational environment at the entry stage of Russian school in international competition. Methods. During the implementation of the program the following methods were applied: reflexive analysis, modeling, case-study, project method, etc. It is concluded that professional competences formed during the implementation of the additional professional educational advanced training program are designed to implement the tasks of multicultural education in practical activities of teachers of the native (Tatar) language.
