Research ArticleEthnic Culture Volume 7 No 1- Author:

- Abstract:
- The article examines the development of Islam in Japan from Noda Masataro – the first Japanese to convert to Islam in 1891 in the Ottoman Empire, to the present day. Particular attention is paid to the coverage of Japan’s Islamic policy in 1930–1945, and how Islam is understood by the Japanese through the prism of Shintoism and Buddhism. There is currently a growing number of Japanese Muslims. It is noteworthy that most of them are women married to Muslims, but the Japanese themselves, mostly young intellectuals, are beginning to embrace Islam. There are also second-generation Muslims in Japan, those who have one or both parents who are Muslim. One of the parents may be a foreigner. In this case, such people face problems of identity and the ability to integrate into traditional Japanese society. One of the main problems of Japanese Muslims is the problem of burial according to the Muslim tradition, since in Japan, cremation is mostly chosen in such cases. In general, Japanese citizens are religiously tolerant and measures have been taken by the authorities to maintain such sentiments and this despite the growing Islamophobic sentiments in Europe and America, which may sow fear among the Japanese against Muslims.

Research ArticleEthnic Culture Volume 7 No 1- Author:
- Davide Skaliia
- Work direction:
- World languages and literature
- Abstract:
- The article proposes an analysis of verb structures in Italian using the verb venire "come" with the aim of classifying them into one of the following categories: verb periphrases, pseudo-coordination or verb serial constructions. The material of the study is empirical material taken from Italian corpora. The work is based on the method of distributional and distributional-statistical analysis. The study actively uses the glossing rules laid down by the Leipzig system. This approach allows not only to reveal semantic and syntactic relationships, but also to systematize the obtained data with unique accuracy, providing a deep understanding of the structural features of the language. The working hypothesis of the study is that constructions with the verb venire can be classified according to different features, such as structure, semantic nuances, context of use and linguistic features, in order to better understand the distribution and use of the above-mentioned verb structures in the Italian linguistic panorama. Having explained the principles by which the different constructions were investigated and analyzed, it can be concluded that Italian verb constructions using the verb venire can be identified as verb periphrases or special cases of paratactic constructions.

- World languages and literature
- Abstract:
- This article is devoted to the linguistic-cultural analysis of the background word "Brot" in comparison with its Russian conceptual equivalent хлеб in order to identify common and nationally specific differences due to the presence of cultural components on the semantic periphery of both lexemes. The lexical background of the word "Brot" is presented in the form of a lexico-phraseological field, which includes culturally marked lexical units combining both linguistic and non-linguistic content, which allowed us to interpret the background uniqueness of the lexeme in a culturally meaningful way. The relevance of the research is conditioned by the necessity of further study of the background lexicon taking into account the complex character of its non-conceptual part of meaning, possessing implicit denotative and connotative national originality, the elimination of which can have a negative impact on the act of intercultural communication. In the course of the study, we also used the methods of descriptive, comparative and component analysis, the method of critical analysis of the dictionary and dictionary definitions, which allowed us to conclude that the paradigmatic and syntagmatic relations of the word "Brot" are highly culturally unique, and revealed quantitative and qualitative differences in thematically related secondary nominations. The main material of the study is represented by culturally marked lexical units of the mentioned topics, identified by means of a continuous sampling from German explanatory, encyclopedic, phraseological and linguistic-cultural dictionaries, as well as German-Russian dictionaries.

- Work direction:
- Ethno-Cultural Problems of Education
- Abstract:
- The work is devoted to the study of the process of ethnocultural socialization of students. A modern university is a multicultural educational environment in which, due to the use of its cultural and social potential, effective socialization is possible – a process of conflict-free entry of an individual with ethnocultural characteristics, values and behavior patterns of his people, into a multicultural society. The purpose of the article is to present the results of the ascertaining stage of the experiment on ethnocultural socialization of students in the multicultural educational environment of the university. In the course of the work, environmental, axiological, ethnocultural approaches were used. It was revealed that in student groups before the experiment, the majority of respondents were not familiar with the national culture of other peoples. Moreover, some respondents showed reluctance to get acquainted with a foreign-language culture. Based on the methods of observation, survey and questionnaires, conclusions were made that before the main work on ethnocultural socialization of students, the efforts of teachers should be focused on the formation of motivation to get acquainted with the cultural traditions of different peoples. This work is necessary to ensure the validity of further research in the event that the groups initially differ in the degree of motivation. It is argued that the formation of motivation is facilitated by the implementation of such conditions as the focus of the educational process of the university on the knowledge of ethnocultural traditions, customs of different peoples; reliance in the education of students on national traditions, culture and customs based on elements of ethnocultural reconstruction; the organization of interpersonal communication of students of different nationalities based on the principle of ethnocultural self-presentation.
