    The article examines the problem of the loss of dialectal ecological vocabulary and ethnospecific metaphors as an essential element of linguistic and cultural memory. The author substantiates the significance of ethnospecific metaphors not only as a stylistic device but also as a way of comprehending the world and shaping ecological consciousness. The study demonstrates that incorporating ethnospecific metaphors into the educational process contributes not only to enriching students’ speech but also to fostering ecological culture, preserving cultural heritage, and strengthening intergenerational connections.

    The article is devoted to the study of Slavic borrowings in the English language. It examines the historical and linguocultural aspects of the penetration of Slavic words into the English lexicon, their classification by spheres of use, and the degree of adaptation to the phonetic and morphological norms of the English language. Special attention is paid to the most common borrowings related to culture, everyday life, geography, and politics, as well as the process of their integration into modern English. The article shows how linguistic interaction reflects historical contacts between nations and contributes to the expansion of the English lexicon.

  • On the Specifics of the Besermyan Vocabulary in «Materials for a comparative Dictionary...» by P. M. Sorokin: Turkic Borrowings

    Abstract:
    Written records play an important role in the study of language history, linguistic phenomena, and their dynamics. They are particularly significant for the language of the Besermyans, a compact group living in the northwest of the Udmurt Republic. The language of this small people only received the status of an independent idiom in 2022. The manuscript "Materials for a Comparative Dictionary of the Zyuzdin Permyak and Glazov Votian Dialects and the Besermyan Dialect" is currently one of the few early written records containing a significant amount of Besermyan material. The aim of this study is to identify Besermyan words of Turkic origin in this manuscript and analyze their origin and territorial distribution. The study utilizes descriptive and etymological methods. During the study of the dictionary's vocabulary, words of Turkic origin were selected, which are unique or predominantly found in the Besermyan language. Most of them are Tatarisms borrowed in the northern territory of what is now the Kirov Oblast and the Udmurt Republic, indicating close Besermyan-Turkic contacts in this region. The list includes only two Bulgarisms and one Chuvashism. Further analysis of the dictionary's features will allow us to determine its precise dialectal base.

Статья посвящена исследованию лексико-семантических характеристик русских и чувашских библионимов. Автором выявлены особенности употребления омонимов, антонимов, неологизмов, а также тропов и имен собственных (антропонимов, топонимов, зоонимов) в структуре книжных заголовков. Исследование раскрывает аспекты национальной культуры, традиций и своеобразия мировосприятия двух народов. Общие черты свидетельствуют о стремлении писателей передавать важнейшие идеи и ценности своего народа, делая литературу неотъемлемой частью мировой культуры.

    В статье рассматривается методика организации лексики английского языка на основе художественной литературы с интеграцией проектного подхода в рамках дисциплины «Практикум по культуре речевого общения английского языка». В фокусе – использование чтения англоязычных произведений для освоения лексики, развития социокультурной осведомленности и формирования универсальных учебных действий. Автором описываются практические задания, такие как разработка презентаций, создание структурированных лексических словарей с элементами креативного оформления (на примерах книг «Блондинка в законе» Аманды Браун и «Унесенные ветром» Маргарет Митчелл), а также запоминание слов с последующей проверкой. Проектный подход подчеркивается как инструмент для самостоятельного планирования задач, стимулирующий аналитическое мышление, творчество и мотивацию студентов. Методика способствует не только расширению словарного запаса и улучшению навыков чтения, но и развитию личностных качеств, таких как инициатива, психологическая саморегуляция и эстетический вкус. В итоге она укрепляет связь между теорией и практикой в высшем образовании, повышая готовность выпускников к профессиональной деятельности. Перспективы включают адаптацию подхода для других языков и оценку его эффективности в цифровом формате.

  • The somonym component baş ‘head’ in the phraseology and proverbs of the Dobrujan Tatars and the Volga Tatars (functional-semantic analysis)

    Abstract:
    The article analyzes the functional and semantic features of the existence of the component-somonym "baş" (head) in the phraseology and proverbs of the Dobrudzha Tatars and the Volga Tatars in a comparative aspect. Illustrative material for comparison with the Tatar literary language was selected from special and explanatory dictionaries and collections of folklore. The work uses the method of functional-semantic analysis, as well as the analysis of phraseological units of the compared languages for the similarity of the plan of internal semantic content and the plan of lexical expression. The well-known thesis on the conservatism and stability of vocabulary denoting parts of the body is confirmed by this material. The results of the analysis of the dictionary of Nadrat Mahmut and Anvar Mahmut "Atalar sözi", as well as factual material from other sources, indicate that the phraseological units of the Romanian Tatars with the somonym "baş" have both full and partial parallels in the Tatar literary language. In this article, the authors try to demonstrate the similarity of lexical-semantic processes and the linguacultural similarity of the compared idioms using specific examples. It can be seen in the compared phraseological units both in terms of expression and in terms of content, which allows us to judge their common roots. The observed differences are primarily due to the fact that the formation of the linguaculture of idioms took place separately for a long time, surrounded by different cultures.

  • National specificity of the lexical-phraseological field Brot in the German language (linguistic-cultural aspect)

    Abstract:
    This article is devoted to the linguistic-cultural analysis of the background word "Brot" in comparison with its Russian conceptual equivalent хлеб in order to identify common and nationally specific differences due to the presence of cultural components on the semantic periphery of both lexemes. The lexical background of the word "Brot" is presented in the form of a lexico-phraseological field, which includes culturally marked lexical units combining both linguistic and non-linguistic content, which allowed us to interpret the background uniqueness of the lexeme in a culturally meaningful way. The relevance of the research is conditioned by the necessity of further study of the background lexicon taking into account the complex character of its non-conceptual part of meaning, possessing implicit denotative and connotative national originality, the elimination of which can have a negative impact on the act of intercultural communication. In the course of the study, we also used the methods of descriptive, comparative and component analysis, the method of critical analysis of the dictionary and dictionary definitions, which allowed us to conclude that the paradigmatic and syntagmatic relations of the word "Brot" are highly culturally unique, and revealed quantitative and qualitative differences in thematically related secondary nominations. The main material of the study is represented by culturally marked lexical units of the mentioned topics, identified by means of a continuous sampling from German explanatory, encyclopedic, phraseological and linguistic-cultural dictionaries, as well as German-Russian dictionaries.

    Abstract:
    The lexical approach is the most widespread method used in teaching a foreign language nowadays. The key principles of lexical approach are emphasized in the chapter. In connection with the variety of opinions about the use of this method, the authors analyze the positive and perceived negative aspects of the approach. The important issues that teachers face in their classes with undergraduate students of technical specialities in the university are analyzed. The main rules for preparing and conducting classes with undergraduate students are suggested. On the basis of the conducted research a set of exercises of different types aimed at the development of professional vocabulary and lexical competence in general was developed. The results, which have been tested in the groups of undergraduate students are described and analyzed and their effectiveness has been proved.

На основании проведенного констатирующего эксперимента проанализированы результаты исследования сформированности словаря прилагательных у данной категории детей и выявлены недостатки в усвоении и использовании атрибутивной лексики у младших школьников с легкой степенью умственной отсталости (интеллектуальными нарушениями). Полученные результаты указывают на необходимость проведения коррекционно-логопедической работы по развитию атрибутивного словаря у младших школьников с легкой степенью умственной отсталости (интеллектуальными нарушениями).

    Статья посвящена теме исследования фонетической вариативности регионализмов, функционирующих на территории Швейцарии, Бельгии и эльзасского диалекта в сопоставлении со стандартным французским языком. В результате проведенного анализа были выявлены фонетико-просодические особенности исследуемых вариантов французского языка, функционирующих за пределами Франции, а также эльзасского диалекта по сравнению с языком метрополии. Проведенное исследование опиралось на процедуры сравнительно-сопоставительного анализа. Для отбора языкового материала были использованы данные французских и диалектных словарей, аудиотексты, а также лингвистические атласы. Практическая значимость проведенного исследования заключается в возможности использования полученных результатов в спецкурсах по ареальной лингвистике.
