    The chapter explores the role and methods of fostering learning motivation in teaching English to students of non-linguistic specialties. The author emphasizes the crucial role of motivation as a system-forming factor that determines the success, sustainability, and effectiveness of educational activities. The paper analyzes the main types of motivation (intrinsic/extrinsic, integrative/instrumental, motivation for success/fear of failure) and their specifics in the context of language training. Particular attention is paid to the problem of students' low initial level of language proficiency and the need for targeted work to develop motivation from the beginning of university studies. The central role of the teacher as an organizer of a motivating educational environment and a facilitator is defined. The chapter offers practical strategies and methods for enhancing learning motivation, including ensuring the professional relevance of the course content, using interactive teaching methods, working with authentic texts, and creating an atmosphere of psychological support. It is concluded that effective motivation management is key to forming the high professional competence of future specialists.

    Abstract:
    The rationale for the practical implementation of the principles of the sustainable development concept at the level of economic entities is due to the fact that they are not yet mandatory for enterprises and organizations in the Russian Federation. Unlike at the national level, the application of the sustainable development concept at the level of economic entities remains a desirable but not mandatory component of their activities. Based on the use of general scientific theoretical methods of cognition (analysis, synthesis, generalization, induction, deduction, etc.), the study has formed a holistic understanding of the implementation of the principles of sustainable development in the activities of economic entities, and has also attempted to provide a theoretical justification for certain aspects of the organization of economic entities' activities in accordance with the concept of sustainable development. Unlike existing approaches to analyzing the activities of economic entities in implementing the principles of sustainable development, the authors propose considering social and environmental activities in an inseparable connection with production activities. Since it is the scale of production activities and their effectiveness that determine the content of social and environmental activities, as well as the capabilities of economic entities to carry them out. In accordance with this, an attempt has been made to determine the minimum boundaries of social and environmental activities from the perspective of ensuring sustainable development of economic entities, as well as the possibilities for expanding them.

  • Individual Prevention of Juvenile Delinquency in Secondary Schools

    Abstract:
    This article aims to conceptualize, describe, and validate a model for preventing deviant behavior among at-risk students in a general education school setting. The research is based on an analysis of the practical experience of a specific educational institution implementing this model. The study's materials include school regulations, individualized rehabilitation programs, observations of students, semi-structured interviews with educational stakeholders, and data from surveys and tests. The research methods employed are case studies, a review and synthesis of pedagogical practices, and analytical descriptions with modeling elements. The results highlight the model's strengths, such as a comprehensive approach to prevention, individualized corrective and pedagogical activities, active student involvement in the preventive process, optimization of the teaching staff's work, and a focus on fostering positive motivation. Potential limitations and challenges are also identified, including the need for a high level of professional competence among mentors, the risk of perfunctory completion of individual developmental maps, the difficulty in verifying the system's effectiveness, and the dependence of subproject success on the activity of classroom teachers. The conclusion underscores the effectiveness and promise of the presented model for reducing the risk of deviance and improving students' social adaptation. A system for monitoring and evaluating effectiveness, incorporating both quantitative and qualitative indicators, is proposed. The crucial role of the school librarian as a library mentor in preventive work is emphasized.

    The paper discusses the necessary changes in teacher training that are in demand due to the active implementation of artificial intelligence (AI) in universities of the Russian Federation. These changes are considered on the basis of pedagogical futurology. The comparative significance of AI implementation factors in education is traced, identified for entities responsible for the effective implementation of AI systems and with different levels of readiness for the designated innovations, including: people making decisions on modernizing interactions based on AI, people implementing methodological support and implementation of AI, as well as students that are undergoing training to develop programs and technologies in the field of AI in the near and distant future. The main problems of education development in this article are considered on the basis of the analysis of the obtained experimental data on the predicted expectations and achievable results associated with the use of AI and the transition from traditional algorithms and established scenarios of binary interaction in the educational process to the possible transfer of a significant number of analytical operations and educational functions from humans to digital agents. The article proposes systemic measures for the implementation of predictive activities of subjects of the educational process based on pedagogical futurology, taking into account the expectations of the use of artificial intelligence in education.

    In today's digitalized world, staffing is becoming the fundamental basis for effective transformation. Global digital transformation processes permeate all aspects of socio-economic development. A new type of specialist in demand in the labor market must meet the criteria that are formed in the context of national projects being implemented in the country – he is a creative professional who makes responsible decisions and creates a positive image not only of his profession, but also of the organization and the state as a whole. In the context of the transformation of the modern labor market, digital technologies are becoming the most important tool for training competitive university graduates. The chapter is devoted to the interpretation of the concept of «digital technologies in education», the disclosure of their essence and structural components. Digital technologies have advantages over traditional educational technologies: access to a variety of resources and tools, adaptability and personalized learning, as well as the development of digital skills needed in today's labor market. However, the introduction of digital technologies into the educational process is associated with a number of challenges, such as the need to ensure digital literacy among teachers and students, infrastructure development, and data protection. The influence of digital technologies on the formation of graduates' competitive abilities is manifested in their ability to effectively adapt to changing labor market conditions, meet employers' requirements and develop personal qualities, including critical thinking, creativity and readiness for continuous learning. The integration of digital technologies into the educational environment of a university requires a strategic approach focused on the development of a specialist's personality, the needs of the modern labor market and the requirements of potential employers.

    In the chapter presents the results of a studying the development of a low-carbon economy in Russia and developed countries. Nowadays developed countries are investing significant resources to boost energy transition, aiming to achieve carbon neutrality by 2050. In Russia the growth of greenhouse gas emissions continue, and, according to the target scenario for Russian economy, will continue until 2030. However, are implemented important measures to develop low carbon economy: renewable energy sources, financial support, market of emission quotas. Is increasing the number of implemented «green» projects. So Russia will be able to reduce greenhouse gas emissions by 80% to the 1990 level. Achieved results can be used in improving the socio-economic development based on the concept of a low-carbon economy.

    The article examines the features and challenges of developing digital educational content (DEC) in the modern educational process. A definition of DEC is provided, and its advantages—such as flexibility, personalization, and accessibility of learning—are highlighted. The article analyzes the main difficulties arising in the creation and implementation of digital content, including technological, methodological, and psychological issues. Special attention is paid to the age-related and pedagogical aspects of applying DEC at different levels of education. The study is based on an analysis of scientific publications and the author’s personal experience. In conclusion, the article offers proposals for improving the quality and effectiveness of digital educational content in Russia.

    In the modern information society, the development of information literacy is becoming one of the key tasks of school education. Information literacy is the ability to effectively find, analyze, evaluate and use information from various sources. The article discusses current approaches to the formation of this competence among students in grades 5-9. The main strategies for the development of information literacy are presented: integration into the educational process, project-based learning, the development of critical thinking and the use of digital tools. Examples of digital resources and online platforms that can be used by teachers in educational practice are given. Special attention is paid to the diagnosis of the level of information literacy formation and the role of the teacher in its development. The results of the study can be useful to teachers, methodologists and developers of educational programs.

  • Improving the effectiveness of the learning curriculum on children's railways through the development of environmental literacy and inclusive creative technologies

    Abstract:
    The article describes an educational project aimed at increasing student engagement and consolidating educational material through the practical use of secondary resources. The author describes the experience of creating thematic dioramas as a means of visual representation of the studied sections of the program. Special emphasis is placed on the possibility of children with disabilities participating in the project, which made it possible to implement an inclusive approach to learning. The project was implemented as part of optional classes on the Sverdlovsk Children's Railway for five months. The participants used recycled materials such as cardboard boxes, old brushes, wires, book covers, etc. – as well as elements of modern technologies, including 3D printing. The work contributed to the development of creative, engineering and environmental thinking, communication skills and teamwork. The results showed the effectiveness of the method: children were actively involved in the learning process, showed independence and initiative, and also increased the level of understanding of the educational material. The project confirmed the potential of using accessible materials and inclusive practices to form sustainable knowledge and value orientations among students.

    Аbstract The chapter examines key aspects of development, socialization and psychological well-being of adolescents in the modern educational space. The role of the main factors of adolescent socialization is analyzed, including the role of family, school, peers and the digital environment. Particular attention is paid to the competencies of specialists working with adolescents, their ability to create a supportive environment for the formation of the adolescent's personality. Based on the conducted study of self-assessment of the competencies of specialists, strengths and development areas were identified, such as working with crisis states, the use of interactive methods and digital technologies. A model of interaction with adolescents based on the principles of trust, dialogue and action is proposed, as well as recommendations for improving the effectiveness of the specialist's professional activity.

    Abstract:
    This work is devoted to the development of the spheres of individuality of a university student through the integration of an electronic course into the educational process during foreign language classes for the first- and second-year bachelor students of Immanuel Kant Baltic Federal University. The creation of a specially designed course in the electronic information and educational environment (https://eios.kantiana.ru/) is based on a number of principles: individualization and variability of the studying process, practical focus of the educational material. The electronic learning course allows the student to develop spheres of individuality through planning and building an educational route, through the choice of educational material, preparation of creative project works, through monitoring academic progress, and etc. Experimental verification of the exposed hypothesis that the development of the student’s individuality spheres will be quite effective provided that a specially created electronic learning course is implemented into the educational process, allowing to activate all student’s mental processes when studying a foreign language. This verification is realized in accordance with three stages. The obtained results have confirmed the proposed hypothesis about a positive influence of the electronic learning course on the development of spheres of individuality of a student in the process of studying.

    The article discusses modern approaches to foreign language teaching, emphasizing the use of virtual excursions as an effective method that promotes the development of language and cultural skills. Virtual excursions, which utilize contemporary digital technologies such as 3D modeling and augmented reality, provide learners with a unique opportunity to immerse themselves in the language environment and broaden their cultural horizons, which is vital in the context of international communication. The aim of the study is to demonstrate the potential of using virtual excursions in foreign language teaching at a non-linguistic university. The research was conducted at the Yakovlev’s University, where future teachers participated in a series of virtual excursions focusing on the history and culture of Great Britain. The research methodology included surveys, observations, and semi-structured interviews, allowing an assessment of the students’ language preparedness and engagement before and after the implementation of the innovative teaching method. The results showed a significant improvement in language skills, perception of authentic audio and video materials, as well as knowledge of the cultural aspects of the studied language countries.

    The development of educational export is an important strategic task both for Russian universities at the institutional level, allowing them to increase the level of global competitiveness, and at the state level, ensuring the implementation of the principles of the «soft power» strategy. Both of these goal-settings contribute to the achievement of national interests through attraction and persuasion. To increase the efficiency of the export of Russian education and high-quality training of specialists for the global labor market, it is necessary to develop effective methods, mechanisms and technologies for improving the intercultural adaptive environment of educational organizations, which became the main goal of this study. Cultural diversity is a key value guide for the classification of cultures of peoples and countries, as well as an important criterion for the effective management of multicultural groups and organizations. In the context of educational organizations, cultural diversity is becoming a powerful driver for the development of competencies in the host institutions for foreign students, but it is important to systematically approach all components of an intercultural adaptive environment based on the implementation and scaling of best practices. In this study, based on a sociological survey of foreign students in Russian universities, priority adaptation tools are systematized both along the internal contour of the educational organization, as well as and in external bilateral and network interactions. The research recommendations are both strategic in nature, defining the fundamental tasks of educational organizations to create an intercultural adaptive environment, and of an applied and methodological nature, based on proposals regarding the development of specific tools for intercultural adaptation.

  • Regional problems of environmental safety

    Ensuring environmental safety is a priority task for all countries. Sustainable development of the state, high quality of life and health of its population can be ensured provided that high quality of the environment is maintained. In Russia, the scale of pollution by production and consumption waste has reached a critical level, posing a serious threat to national environmental security. Large industrial regions of the country face the most serious environmental problems. The purpose of the study is to study regional problems of ensuring environmental safety. In the chapteruses such research methods as analysis of theoretical sources, study of official statistics, comparative analysis. The indicators characterizing the state of the environment of the Sverdlovsk region for 2021–2023 were analyzed. It was concluded that according to the National Environmental Rating in 2023 (autumn rating), the region was in last place, i.e. it was the worst region in the country in terms of environmental indicators. Despite the improvement of certain indicators for 2021–2023 (reduction in the volume of generated waste, the share of the population in cities with high levels of air pollution, discharge of polluted wastewater, etc.), the level of pollution of the atmosphere, water resources and soils in the region is very high. Success in solving environmental problems in the region largely depends on the implementation of an integrated approach, including economic (increased investment in environmental projects), social (increased environmental literacy of the population) and technological changes (digitalization and modernization of industry).

    Abstract:
    The chapter is devoted to the study of the environmental advantages of rural areas in comparison with urban areas, as well as the analysis of key challenges and opportunities for sustainable rural development. The study uses a comparative approach to assess the environmental situation in urban and rural areas, taking into account the historical, social and economic aspects that shape the state of the environment. Special emphasis is placed on the concepts of rational use of natural resources and sustainable development, which offer effective ways to overcome environmental problems. Among such solutions are the introduction of organic farming, the development of environmentally sound technologies and an increase in the level of environmental awareness among the population. It is concluded that there is a need to move to a new economic paradigm based on the principles of sustainable development, which will preserve natural resources for future generations and improve the quality of life in rural areas.
