  • The language of professional communication: approaches, model, and content of learning in theory and practice of Russian as a foreign language

    Abstract:
    The chapter addresses the problem of creating a modern integrative model for teaching foreign language professional communication, taking into account the requirements of professionalization and specialization. Teaching professional communication is considered as an independent area in the methodology of teaching Russian as a foreign language. The article presents a theoretical justification of the proposed model, characterized by phasing and staging of instruction (in accordance with the Federal State Educational Standard) and level-based content (bachelor's degree, language proficiency levels B1-C1). Modern approaches to modeling the process of teaching professional communication are considered as a synthesis of conceptual provisions of pedagogical and linguodidactic paradigms. The results of linguistic research on metalanguages of various types of professional discourse for educational purposes are clarified. The basic components of the didactic support of the model are identified, and the pedagogical tools for its implementation are characterized. The content of the diagnostic system for assessing the level of communicative competence formation is defined. A system for diagnosing the effectiveness of professional communication language proficiency is proposed, specifying invariant tasks for levels B1-C1. Theoretical methods, content analysis, continuous sampling method, and statistical methods were applied.

Под лингвокогнитивным подходом понимается принцип обучения, при котором усвоение семантики и особенностей употребления языковых единиц опирается на выявление ментального образа, лежащего в основе их значения, механизмов формирования данного образа и когнитивных механизмов расширения соответствующего значения.

    Abstract:
    Modern economic development of Russia determines the reforming of vocational education system and production in accordance with innovative technological equipment. The dual system is the most common form of personnel training which combines theoretical training (in Russia 40%, in Germany 20–25%) in educational institutions and the industrial training (75–80%) at enterprises. 96% of young people who completed dual training got a job at enterprises.

    Abstract:
    This paper presents the results of a study aimed at revealing specific features of teaching a foreign language and, in particular its grammar, online (via a video conference) as compared with off-line training. By analyzing works on the problem, evaluating the teaching experience, studying the data of a student survey (open-ended questions type) and the data of previous similar surveys, we reveal positive and negative aspects of online foreign language classes. Next, we suggest ways to eliminate or diminish the disadvantages of online learning and ways to use its advantages in teaching foreign grammar. The adaptation of a grammar teaching methodology to the «online» mode is presented as a revision of ways (forms, techniques, tools) to present and master the material. The teacher is to take into account the psychological difficulties of online learning, while following the general didactic principles and preserving the content of the methodology.

    В статье рассматриваются проблемы и трудности, которые возникают в процессе преподавания курса всемирной истории. Опираясь на собственный опыт, авторы пришли к выводу, что наиболее оптимальным вариантом в новых условиях преподавания является «смешанная модель» обучения, внедрение электронных управляемых курсов, позволяющие оптимизировать взаимодействие преподавателя и студента, стимулировать самостоятельную работу студентов и повысить эффективность изучения данной дисциплины.
