The Tatar layer of words in the system of kinship terms of the Besermans
Research ArticleEthnic Culture Volume 5 No 3- Author:
- Sergey A. Maksimov
- Work direction:
- World languages and literature
- Abstract:
- The purpose of this study is to identify and systematize the terms of kinship of Tatar origin in the Beserman dialect. The terms of kinship in the Udmurt language are relatively well studied. However, the terminology of Tatar origin as a separate lexico-semantic layer has not previously been considered in publications. Meanwhile, the study of such vocabulary can help shed light on the problems of the ethnogenesis of the Besermans, which is very important. This study was carried out mainly on the basis of T. I. Teplyashina’s monograph “The Language of the Besermans” and her field notes. The goals were achieved using descriptive and statistical methods, as well as the method of etymological analysis. Thirty-two Beserman terms of Tatar origin were identified and systematized, which allowed a new look at Besermian-Tatar contacts. In one of the periods, Besermans and Tatars had very close relationships up to interethnic marriages. The presence of special terms denoting the relatives of the husband among the Besermans, which are absent in other Udmurt dialects but correspond to the terms of the Chepetsk Tatars, may indicate that not only Besermian women married Tatars, but also Tatar women married Beserman men.

Poetic topolectization in the formative years of the Chinese “new poetry”
Research ArticleEthnic Culture Volume 5 No 3- Author:
- Yulia A. Dreyzis
- Work direction:
- World languages and literature
- Abstract:
- The paper explores the infiltration of topolect into the poetry of Liu Bannong and Crescent Moon Society authors, induced by the Folksong Collection Movement, often labeled as introducing vernacular into poetry. The language of Liu Bannong’s New Poetry presents a complex hybrid between the emerging literary norm, local Beijing vernacular and his native lect of the northern Taihu region. Many contemporaries noted his poetry’s merits and his invaluable contribution to New Poetry development, greatly facilitated by Liu Bannong’s professional linguistic training. Following Liu Ban Nong’s footsteps, the Crescent Moon Society suggested experimenting with a new poetic language through the prism of the vernacular. Theorizing was supported by poetic practice: the authors of the Crescent Moon Society included topolect vocabulary in the texts abundantly, and directly marked individual poems as colloquial. In addition to inlaying topolect vocabulary or including large fragments of text written in topolect, topolectization was also carried out through rhyming. Despite the fact that further influence of this topolect poetry remained underestimated, the emerging connection between topolect and the authentic embodiment of the idea of a national language has become important for any discussion about language reform in the new China.

- Work direction:
- Pedagogy and Modern Education
- Abstract:
- The article presents the experience of teaching chemistry to foreign students of a medical university. To facilitate the understanding of educational material in chemistry by foreign students, the didactic potential of university lectures has been expanded. Every year, Russian universities accept citizens from more than 170 countries to study. The annual growth in the number of foreign students corresponds to the national course for further integration into the educational and scientific community of the allied states. The relevance of the study is determined by the need of Russian universities to develop educational and methodological materials in a foreign language for training programs for foreign students. The aim of this study is to facilitate the understanding of lecture material, and, as a result, to increase the effectiveness of teaching chemistry to foreign students of a medical university through the use of an English-language course of lectures in the learning process. Within this work, using the method of students questionnaire survey, a pedagogical study of the attitude of foreign students to the use of a course of chemistry lectures in English was carried out. The study involved 80 foreign students of Altai State Medical University, citizens of far abroad countries. It was found that the described course of lectures minimizes the difficulties of foreign students' perception of large amounts of educational material (97.5% of respondents), increases the efficiency of independent work (92.5%), helps to overcome the language barrier when teaching in an intermediary language (67.5%), as a result, there is a general interest of foreign students in chemistry as a science (95%), facilitating of educational material understanding and an increase in academic performance (96.2% of those who successfully passed the exam in chemistry compared to 60% of students in the control group). Thus, we came to the conclusion that the use of a developed English-language course of lectures in the teaching chemistry makes it easier for students to perceive the lecture material and improve the quality of chemistry education for foreign students.

- Abstract:
- The establishment of the Soviet power on the territory of the Russian empire led to a new system of values, activation of the population in all fields of the social life. In the sphere of museum building in the 1920s a noticeable role was played by such public scientific and educational associations as the Society for the Study of the Local Territory in Cheboksary (1921-1931) and the Society for the Study of Chuvash Culture in Moscow (1927-1931). The main aim of the article is to reveal the history of the formation and work of these organizations. The material is presented chronologically. Having established close contacts with scientific institutions throughout Russia and with famous scientists, the local history organizations with a wide network of branches and cells promoted an in-depth study and development of the economy and culture of the Chuvash region and the spiritual culture of the Chuvash, half of whose population lived outside the territory of the autonomy. The special attention these societies paid to the development of the native language and culture of the Chuvash people that allowed the Chuvash people to realize their national identity. During the first decade of the Chuvash Soviet autonomy some successes in the formation of local lore as a science were achieved. On the territory of Chuvashia local history institutions and organizations made a significant contribution to the study of nature, economy, productive forces of the region, as well as the spiritual life of the people. In this period it was the Society for the Study of the Local Territory in Cheboksary and the Society for the Study of Chuvash Culture in Moscow that promoted the preservation and development of the Chuvash language.

Seasons in the Russian-language writing of the Udmurt poet V. Ar-Sergi
Research ArticleEthnic Culture Volume 5 No 2- Author:
- Evgeniia V. Panteleeva
- Work direction:
- World languages and literature
- Abstract:
- The article is devoted to the study of the semantics of the seasons in the Russian-language poetry of the Udmurt poet and prose writer V. Ar-Sergi. The relevance of this work is caused by the fact that today artistic texts of national authors require a holistic conceptual analysis, since they are strongly influenced by Russian literature, which in turn affects their ethnocultural identity. The issue of preserving, strengthening and developing national language in the multilingual space of the Russian Federation is acute. The author undertook an analytical review of the problem on the material of the Ar-Sergi Russian-language poetry. During the study, traditional methods of literary research (quantitative, structural-semiotic, comparison and collation, method of holistic text analysis) were used. Both traditionally mythological and individual authorial realia associated with the perception of calendar natural changes are reflected in the poetic texts of Ar-Sergi. The degree of their semantic connectedness with traditional canons of Udmurt culture is determined. Comprehension of the natural passage of time is closely intertwined with the emotional and psychological plan of the works. The natural landscape axiologically becomes a theme for constant artistic reflection in the poetry of Ar-Sergi. The lexical units from the lexico-semantic group “seasons” have not only a certain temporal semantic load but also denote the internal emotional state of the lyric subject in the poetic texts of the Udmurt poet. The attention of the author is turned not only on his own worldview but also folk-mythological contexts of the whole ethnic group.

General extralinguistic factors reinforcing specific ideas about the Cheboksary regiolect of the Russian language
Research ArticleEthnic Culture Volume 5 No 2- Author:
- Eduard V. Fomin
- Work direction:
- World languages and literature
- Abstract:
- The study is devoted to the study of the conditions for the formation and functioning of the Cheboksary regiolect of the Russian language, which is distinguished by a number of stable linguistic parameters. The peculiar sound of the speech of the Cheboksary people has developed under the significant substrate influence of the Chuvash language, among the speakers of which there are currently active processes of a linguistic shift in favor of Russian. The work is written in the aspect of sociolinguistics and is based on the author’s long-term observations of the self-esteem of Cheboksary residents and their assessment by visitors. The purpose of the research is to expand the understanding of extralinguistic factors that do not directly affect the specifics of the speech of Cheboksary people, but at the same time enhance the impression of it from outside observers. The article deals with non-linguistic specific features inherent in the capital of the Chuvash Republic, including geographical, climatic, anthropological, technological and other components. Their presence greatly enhances the perception of the sound of the Russian speech of the inhabitants of Cheboksary and its agglomeration as a unique phenomenon of modern Russian culture. In turn, the specific conditions that support the Cheboksary regiolect are the result of a long historical and social process, including the mass migration of the population in the past, the mixing of different ethnic groups among themselves and the formation of modern peoples in their visually fixed physical features, anthropological impact on the ecumene, etc. in relation to the territory of Chuvashia and nearby regions.

Ontological Models of Proverbs as Precedent Texts (on the Material of Different Structural Models in the Russian and Chuvash Languages)
Research ArticleEthnic Culture Volume 5 No 2- Authors:

- Abstract:
- This article presents an analysis of proverbs as precedent texts and their ontological (conceptual) models in the Russian and Chuvash languages as having different structures. The relevance of the work is due to the cognitive-pragmatic approach to the linguistic picture of the world of proverbs, as well as the need to determine the status of the ontological model of precedent texts of proverbs as a special structure of knowledge that characterizes the features of ethno-linguistic consciousness. Based on the material of Russian and Chuvash proverbs, a conceptual analysis of the precedent texts of proverbs is carried out. The basic models of the subject's cognitive decision-making strategy are distinguished: 1) cognitive setting for a low / high degree of argumentative impact: a) with the axiological dominant “gradation”; b) with a stereotypical dominant; c) with adaptive dominant; 2) cognitive attitude with the axiological component “positive – negative”. The identified types of axiological components of conceptual objects act as factors, grounds that ensure the use of proverbs as an argument, reflecting the values and traditions of the Russian and Chuvash cultural communities. Characteristic for acts of argumentation in which proverbs are used are such basic structures as one-sided argumentation and two-sided argumentation. In the discourse in the relationship of communicants in the languages under consideration, simple and complex speech acts with proverbs are used, which have the same pragmatic features, but differ in quantitative terms and communicative conditions of functioning. The structure of the precedent text of proverbs is presented as an ontology in the Protégé ontology editor system, since in modern research ontology is considered the leading paradigm of information content structuring.

- Abstract:
- The relevance of the research is due to the objective need for further implementation of the achievements of the theory of problem-based learning in the educational process of secondary school through the development of new, more advanced, technological maps of the English lesson that meet modern conditions and regulatory framework. Based on the analysis of scientific publications, it was revealed that at present there is a lack of practice-oriented methodological recommendations based on the technology of problem-based learning for English lessons in general educational organizations. Studies aimed at introducing problem-based learning in English lessons do not always take into account the specifics of meeting the requirements for the development of the technological map of the lesson, including the provisions of the Federal Educational Program of Basic General Education and the updated requirements of the Federal State Educational Standard of Basic General Education, which entered into force on September 1, 2022. Therefore, the authors have developed a technological lesson map, which is based on the theory of problem-based learning and includes the most effective components of linguistic and pedagogical models of problem situations. Evaluation of the implementation of the research results according to the methods of E.V. Mukhacheva and L. Michelson proved that the technological map of the English language lesson developed on the basis of problem-based learning in secondary school contributes to the achievement by students of educational results in the academic subject "English" required by the Federal Educational Program of Basic General Education and the Federal State Educational Standard of Basic General Education.

- Abstract:
- In the framework of the study, the situational approach is considered in conjunction with systemic, process and functional scientific approaches, as the management of an institution is a process, educational institution is a form of system organization, which exists in a certain environment, has functional definiteness and goal setting. The authors define quality management of education using situational approach as a purposeful, operative and systematic process of using technologies and functions of managerial activity taking into account environmental factors, which determine the achievement of quality educational indicators. The situational approach in management implies the interrelation of five components in the management system of an educational institution, including additional education: optimality, variability, flexibility and efficiency. A structural and functional model of quality management of educational institution of additional education on the basis of situational approach was developed, which includes: resources, management process and result and ensures the development of additional education institution in an innovative mode. The model was developed on the basis of the modeling method, taking into account elements of the system approach, taking into account the relationship and application of the situational approach in management and in combination with the methodology of functional and process approaches. The quality of education in the model is presented as a goal, as a management process and as a result, with the possibilities of its achievement in the form of using internal potential of the institution (resources, conditions) and taking into account external environmental factors, as well as taking into account the specific qualities and components of effectiveness of situational approach. The testing of structural and functional model for quality management of education on the basis of situational approach will allow structuring, adapting and optimizing the process of quality management in the institution.

- Abstract:
- The chapter highlights issues of a significant impact on teenagers’ development, identity, socialization and future life depending on how they spend their free time as it is an important transitional situation in adolescence, which helps to bridge the gap between childhood play and work in adulthood. Structured and organized programmes and activities create a beneficial environment for youth development. However, the home environment should be considered the first and, perhaps, the most important, in the context of the positive development of young people. One of the theoretical models that has been created as a useful basis for studying family leisure in recent years has become the core and balance model of the functioning of family leisure. The model based on family systems theory indicates that participation in various forms of family leisure contributes to the functioning of the family in different ways. People tend to seek stability and changes, variety, acquaintance and freshness in their leisure time. At the same time, studying the difference in responses of parents and young people showed that parents are more satisfied with their family life when they were involved in family leisure that was new and challenging, thereby addressing the family's need for change and promoting learning and improving adaptive skills and youth abilities. Young people, on the contrary, turned out to be more in need of stability, constancy and regularity in their preferences for family leisure.

- Abstract:
- Modern education is undergoing serious changes and is aimed at developing competencies for students to be successful in society: critical thinking, communication skills, cooperation and positive interaction skills, social and cultural awareness, functional literacy, etc. Accordingly, the forms and methods of teaching and development of students of different age groups change accordingly. The most effective strategies for working with children include those that help students understand what is being presented to them in class, providing meaningful feedback, approaches that improve metacognition, and students' ability to plan and evaluate their own learning. In the present study, we have made an attempt to develop a program to develop the linguistic abilities of teenagers that is based on the basic principles of subject-subject interaction in the educational process. The developed program caused a number of changes in the motivational and cognitive spheres of the students, and positive changes in the mastering of linguistic material. The received data testifies to the efficiency of the created psychological and pedagogical conditions at the lessons and the positive influence of the subject-subject interaction at the lesson to the development of the teenagers' linguistic abilities of the studied group.
