- Abstract:
- This article analyzes Catherine II's pedagogical tales—"The Tale of Prince Chlorus" and "The Tale of Prince Fevey"—as tools for shaping the personality of the future enlightened monarch. A connection is established between the political philosophy of enlightened absolutism, outlined in the "Instruction" of the Legislative Commission, and the educational principles laid out in these tales for the Grand Dukes Alexander Pavlovich and Konstantin Pavlovich. A comparative analysis of the texts of the "Instruction" and the tales allows us to conclude that the latter convey key ideas of autocracy and class hierarchy, as well as the concept of "moral equality."

- The article discusses methods and techniques for working on a poem in the 3rd grade, with a focus on meaningful reading. It describes three stages of text analysis (pre-text, text, and post-text) based on the methodology of N. V. Dushkina and the positions of O. V. Zakharova. For each stage, specific techniques are provided (e.g., «true and false statements», «stop-and-go reading», and «thick and thin questions»), and examples of their application are given using poems included in the «School of Russia» program. It is shown how these methods contribute to a deep understanding of lyrical works and meet the requirements of the Federal State Educational Standard for Primary General Education.

Organizing Students' Independent Work in the Course “Technologies of Interaction between Participants in Educational Relations”
Research Article
Development of education Volume 9 No 2- Author:
- Lyudmila N. Danilova
- Work direction:
- Pedagogy and Modern Education
- Abstract:
- The aim of this article is to examine the specific features of organizing students' independent work in a modern university, using Mari State University as a case study. The relevance of the research is justified by contemporary requirements for the structure of curricula and the forms of organizing educational activities in higher education. The paper presents practical materials on the organization of students' independent work within the framework of the discipline “Technologies of Interaction between Participants in Educational Relations”, which is included in the master's degree curriculum. The research materials comprised an analysis of psychological and pedagogical literature and the results of the author's survey of students. The case study reveals the essence of the concept of “independent work” in the context of the requirements of regulatory frameworks governing the educational process and the current conditions for the implementation of educational programs. The author emphasizes the role of the teacher in organizing students' cognitive activities and substantiates the importance of monitoring and assessment on the part of the instructor. The article provides a fragment of the thematic planning of independent work, specifying the task formulations and the forms of reporting the results of students' independent mastery of the course material. Based on the research findings, the author draws the following conclusions: independent work is a component of the educational program within the academic discipline; students' learning motivation for independent work depends on the discipline module, instructor monitoring, and instructional support provided by the teacher.

Transformation of the Role of a Teacher of Socio-Humanitarian Disciplines in the Context of Digitalization of Education
Research Article
Development of education Volume 9 No 2- Author:
- Irina V. Staroverova
- Work direction:
- Pedagogy and Modern Education
- Abstract:
- The article analyzes the changing role of the teacher of socio-humanitarian disciplines (SHD) in the context of the widespread adoption of generative artificial intelligence (AI) in the educational process. The aim of the study is to identify the directions of transformation of the professional position of the SHD teacher and to propose a model that enables the adaptation of the educational process to the new digital reality. It is shown that the traditional model of the teacher as the primary source of knowledge and an expert-controller no longer works when students have constant access to generative AI systems capable of producing coherent and outwardly persuasive responses. The “simulacrum effect” creates a particular vulnerability for SHDs: generative models can easily produce a passable philosophical or sociological essay without any genuine understanding of the content. The author argues that the new role of the SHD teacher involves shifting the focus from transmitting ready-made knowledge to teaching information literacy skills, including verification and prompt engineering. A three-level model of teacher role transformation is proposed: the methodological level (teaching verification and prompt engineering), the project-facilitation level (hybrid “human + AI” formats), and the ethical-reflexive level (defining the boundaries of acceptable AI use). A fourth, integrative level is also described, which is achieved upon mastering the previous three and involves the teacher transitioning to the role of academic mentor, guiding students through the research cycle of “generation – critique – reflection”. Based on practical experience, specific methods are described, such as the “three-layer essay” and “AI reviewer”, that enable the implementation of this model in the educational process. The proposed model transforms the teacher's role not toward competition with AI, but toward that of a mentor who cultivates critical thinking and research culture.

Linguistic Means of Marxist Ideology Expression as Axiological Orientation of the Author in Joe De Graft’s “Sons and Daughters” and the Peculiarities of Their Translation into Russian
Research Article
Ethnic Culture Volume 8 No 2- Author:
- Artem I. Yakovlev
- Work direction:
- World languages and literature
- Abstract:
- The article is devoted to the linguistic-axiological and translatological analysis of the first play by Joe de Graft “Sons and Daughters” from the perspective of Marxist theory. The research identifies linguistic and textual markers of the author's unique expressiveness, which illustrate J. de Graft's Marxist criticism of five key capitalist ideas: classism, commodification, individualism, consumerism, and imperialism. Eleven axiologically driven text fragments are subjected to stylistic and textual analysis, revealing various stylistically marked units operating at all linguistic levels. These units then undergo translatological analysis, identifying the translation transformations applied to the original text in order to convey the axiological content to the Russian reader. The results of the research confirm that the Ghanaian playwright uses an array of expressive means and stylistic devices to express his harsh criticism towards capitalist ideology; these EMs and SDs often enter into the relationship of convergence. It is worth noting that words expressing day-to-day realities are also used by the playwright axiologically; they help J. de Graft demonstrate his dissatisfaction with imperialism in Ghana, then a young African country. The text is significantly transformed in translation, which seems unsurprising since axiologically charged units pose a major difficulty while translating literary texts. Still, it is confirmed that the translator manages to convey the axiological meaning of the original text.

The Reception of the West in Flor Vasiliev’s Poetic Cycle “From the Norwegian Notebook”
Research Article
Ethnic Culture Volume 8 No 2- Author:
- Victor L. Shibanov
- Work direction:
- World languages and literature
- Abstract:
- Udmurt poet Flor Vasiliev's cycle “From a Norwegian Notebook” (1967) exemplifies the depiction of a Western country, in which the author and his protagonist clearly demonstrate their patriotism without resorting to rhetoric or declaratory statements. The aim of the study is to examine the artistic specificity of Vasiliev's cycle and to identify the peculiarities of the reception of foreign space within it. The leading method is the historical-cultural approach, employing techniques of reception theory. The central collective subject of the poetic cycle is the collective we, representing a Soviet citizen who has arrived in a NATO country as part of a tourist group. The image of the people is recurring, embodying the spiritual strength and industriousness of northern people who remember the horrors of World War II. The images of Nansen and Edvard Grieg are actualized in the lyrical cycle as embodiments of the finest Norwegian spiritual qualities. The Udmurt poet sympathetically portrays a female immigrant working as a tour guide in a foreign country. F. Vasiliev perceives the West not so much in opposition as in the search for points of convergence between different cultures.
