- This study presents the evaluation of use of blended and problem-based learning methods applied by members of the Department of Hygienic Disciplines of Voronezh State Medical University named after N.N. Burdenko in their teaching practice for the purpose of attention span decrease prevention during «cycle study sessions». The research involved 4th, 5th and 6th year students attending «Nutrition Hygiene» and «Legal basis of Rospotrebnadzor medical officer occupation» courses of the Department. The main study group included students, for whom blended and problem-based learning methods were applied during their study. The reference group included students tought by «classical methods». In order to analyse students' attention span, we used Bourdon’s methodology, which allows evaluating students' fatigue and performance capability within the dynamics of practical sessions and the entire «learning cycle». It was found that the use of the mix of learning methods in teaching practice results in the best possible attention span among students, and that fatigue develops faster for students undergoing classical learning. Based on the evidence found, the strategy for improvement of pedagogical process in higher education institutions was proposed.

The prerequisites for changing the educational paradigm in the Russian higher school are studied and the levels of competencies formed in the traditional educational process based on the concept of «supporting education», as well as the levels of competencies that can be formed in students while organizing the educational process using the concept of «innovative education» are determined. The interrelation of higher school teachers' information competence with the possibility of increasing the education system innovative ability is revealed. The ways of creating information and methodological system to support the training environment that accompanies the learning process, using the capabilities of the Internet are proposed in the article. The article describes four blocks of the educational process modernization, combining the basic tools for the innovative educational process implementation at the University, and lists the main conditions for the implementation of the proposed innovations in University practice. - Developments in the field of smart education – trend in the world educational space. Smart education is the result of the evolution of the application of information and communication technologies (the first personal computers), e-learning (personal computers for working in the Internet), m-learning (laptops) and u-learning (smartphones) in education. Key elements to support smart education: mobile computing, smart electronic textbooks, and cloud computing. The model, architecture and scenario of context-dependent system-assistant for smart education, able to analyze the individual characteristics of the student, the environment, adapt their work when conditions change are presented in the article. The novelty of the approach lies in the formalization of the context model so that the context-dependent system-assistant «computes on the fly» a specific scenario taking into account the individual characteristics of users and the current educational situation. When building a content management system, it is proposed to use a model based on biologically plausible machines. Context-dependent smart system should be able to personalize the best learning style, help to choose the optimal educational trajectory. For this purpose the device of Bayesian networks and biologically plausible methods are used. Prospective developments aimed at expanding the research base of smart education are the creation of adaptive systems that support an individual approach to learning, content management systems that provide for the possibility of contextual use of educational resources repositories and provide mobility and deep personalization of educational services. In Russia, nowadays there are the necessary prerequisites for the successful implementation of the smart education system: the focus in training are educational, social, civil, professional competencies, forms and methods for the individualization of the educational trajectory change, focus on open world intellectual resources, the emphasis is shifted to self-control and self-assessment of students, to assessment the education quality by employers, professional communities.

- The purpose of this article is to generalize the ideas of teachers, psychologists, sociologists and acmeologists about the typological approach to students in the educational space of higher education. When writing the work, the tasks of systematizing existing students and building their own typology of students were solved based on the generalization of personality types, learning opportunities, styles of learning activities, the leading representative system and other criteria for identifying student typologies for the implementation of educational, educational and developmental activities of the university. The following scientific methods were used in the work: methods of analysis and synthesis, generalization and systematization, and the modeling method. The article shows that the typological approach is applicable for identifying and describing the main types characteristic of the subjects of the educational process on the scale of higher education. Particular attention is paid to the mechanisms for the development and application of the typological approach and the possibilities on its basis to organize productive interaction between the teacher and the student, taking into account the strengths of the individual, the levels of actual development and the areas of immediate development of students. It is shown that the resource capabilities of the identified personality types of trainees are actualized with the help of a master teacher, who applies individual, differentiated and personality-oriented approaches to future professionals in the course of their professional and personal development in the cycles of readable disciplines and in the system of educational activities of the university. The result of the study was the development of a comparative table of methods for typology of students (taking into account psychological-pedagogical and acme-oriented approaches and criteria for identifying typological groups) and their consideration in the organization of the educational process in higher education. The table systematizes the views of psychologists, sociologists, teachers and acmeologists on the educational process at the university over the past few decades and demonstrates the best ways for the educational activities of students.
